Galaxy Learning provides tutors to help you obtain your application into US universities and succeed in the STEP exams to study mathematics at Oxbridge.
The SAT is a standardised test widely used for college admissions in the United States. The current SAT, introduced in 2005, takes 3 hours and 45 minutes to finish. Possible scores on the SAT range from 600 to 2400, combining test results from three 800-point sections: Mathematics, Critical Reading, and Writing. The STEP (Sixth Term Examination Paper) Mathematics is a well-established mathematics examination designed to test candidates on questions that are similar in style to undergraduate mathematics.
STEP is used by the University of Cambridge as the basis for conditional offers. Other universities sometimes ask candidates to take STEP as part of their offer – in such cases, the university can advise on which papers to take.
To prepare for any of these critical exams your tutor will:
- Work through examples and past paper questions to help you gain deeper understanding of the material;
- Clear up any problem areas and answer questions you may have about the syllabus or exam paper;
- Offer advice on living in the US and choosing which Ivy League universities to apply for if needed;
- Inspire and motivate you to get the top grades.
Our tutors have relevant teaching or tutoring experience. We ensure they are suitably qualified. Our tutors will have up to date knowledge of the curriculum and various exam boards. Our tutors are also required to hold a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Certificate or an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland which we carefully review along with 2 references that are provided for every tutor.
